Seatrium nears delivery of new FPSO for Petrobras
Singapore-based Seatrium has announced the impending delivery of the Petrobras 78 (P-78), the first in a series of turnkey floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels for Brazil’s national oil company, Petrobras. A sailaway ceremony for the vessel was held two weeks ago at Seatrium’s Singapore yard.
Upon delivery, the P-78 will be deployed in Brazil’s Búzios field. The FPSO has a production capacity of 180,000 barrels of oil per day, 7.2 million cubic metres of gas per day, and a storage capacity of two million barrels of oil.
Topside modules for the FPSO, weighing 54,000 tonnes, were fabricated across Seatrium's shipyards in Singapore, China, and Brazil, with final integration work done in Singapore.
Chris Ong, CEO of Seatrium, noted that this is the first in a series of engineering, procurement, and construction FPSOs for Petrobras.
Renata Baruzzi, Executive Officer for Engineering, Technology and Innovation at Petrobras, added that its design integrates lessons learned from previous FPSO series.
Seatrium will conduct the final phase of offshore commissioning works once the FPSO arrives at the Búzios field.
