DDW Offshore anchor handler sold to new owner
DDW Offshore, a subsidiary of Norway-based oilfield services investment company Akastor, has entered into a binding agreement to sell the 2010-built anchor handling tug supply vessel (AHTS) Skandi Peregrino to an undisclosed buyer for a purchase price of US$25 million.
DDW Offshore expects the agreement to be completed in the second quarter of 2025 whereby about US$10 million of the purchase price will be used to repay a proportional portion of the company's debt. The remaining debt with DDW Offshore will be about US$19 million.
Upon the agreement's completion, which is conditional on the current charterer's consent, Akastor intends to distribute a portion of the net proceeds of about US$15 million as cash dividend to its shareholders.
In October 2024, Skandi Peregrino and sister AHTS Skandi Atlantic secured a one-year firm charter for work on behalf of an international oil company in Australian waters beginning in January 2025. The contract also includes options to extend the charter by up to 24 months.
