Technip has announced that it has successfully completed the construction of its new vessel, the 'Apache II', at its construction yard in Pori, Finland. The work involved transferring the 'Apache's' high-performance pipelay equipment onto a newbuild hull acquired in 2009.
With no new significant projects expected to be awarded in the short term, Technip's local management started discussions with employee representatives on May 18 under the Finnish cooperation act to reduce the yard staff and labour workforce from 786 to 416 through a temporary layoff and termination process.
