STX OSV Holdings has secured a new contract for the design and construction of one platform supply vessel (PSV) for Troms Offshore Supply.
The vessel will be of STX OSV's PSV 08 design, and will be approximately 81 meters long with a deadweight of 3,800 tonnes. The hull will be built at STX OSV Braila in Romania, whereup it will be towed to STX OSV Brevik in Norway for outfitting, commissioning and delivery. The vessel is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2013.
Troms Offshore is a Norwegian private shipping company operating offshore service vessels (OSVs) and other special vessels related to research and subsea activities worldwide. The company, founded in 1981, has more than 30 years' experience in
the field and employs more than 400 persons. STX OSV already has one PSV under construction for Troms, which is scheduled to be delivered in 2012.
