Taihan secures turnkey contract for Anma wind power project off Korea
Taihan Cable and Solution has been awarded a turnkey contract to supply and install over 100 kilometres of inter-array submarine cables for the Anma offshore wind power project in South Korean waters.
The contract, valued at approximately KRW181.6 billion (US$130 million), will run until the end of 2028.
The Anma offshore wind power project entails the construction of a 532MW wind farm off the west coast of the Anma Archipelago in Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do province, covering an area of 83.9 million square metres.
Taihan anticipates the project's annual output to be 1,400 GWh, which the company said would supply enough electricity to approximately 1.4 million people each year.
For this project, Taihan will oversee the entire turnkey process, including the design, manufacturing, transportation and installation of inter-array cables, which link turbines and connect turbines to offshore substations.
All submarine cables will be produced at the recently completed Dangjin Submarine Cable Plant One. For cable laying operations, Taihan will utilise the cable laying vessel Palos.
