Pacifico Energy Korea has signed a cooperation agreement with three local governments and a supplier in South Korea to support the development of its 3.2GW offshore wind project cluster in Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do province.

Under the agreement, Pacifico Energy Korea will work to establish a local supply chain and an operations and maintenance centre. The governments of Jeollanam-do, Jindo-gun, and Yeongam-gun will provide administrative support for permits and grid connections.

The deal also includes local supplier Yuil, based in the Daebul Industrial Complex.

The Jindo Offshore Wind Cluster is described by the company as, "the largest in a single area by a single developer in the Asia-Pacific region." It consists of three projects: the 420MW Myeong Ryang, the 990MW Manho, and the 1.8GW Jindo Baram offshore wind farms.

Seung-Ho Choe, Representative Director of Pacifico Energy Korea, stated that the company is focused on expanding partnerships with local suppliers to drive the project's development.

The first phase of the cluster, Myeong Ryang Offshore Wind, is currently undergoing its electricity business license review process, while the subsequent phases are in preparation for the same process.
