Cadeler, through its offshore wind service unit Nexra, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Vattenfall Vindkraft to explore operations and maintenance solutions for the offshore wind sector.
The strategic collaboration focuses on developing major component exchange capabilities alongside long-term planning across multiple turbine platforms.
According to the agreement, the initiative combines service methodologies to establish more predictable upkeep for offshore energy assets.
"Every major component exchange comes with significant cost, complexity and lost generation," said Pavlo Malyshenko, Head of Generation, Offshore Wind at Vattenfall.
Malyshenko explained that long-term competitiveness across the sector depends heavily on operating and servicing assets over several decades rather than solely on project construction.
Cadeler established its Nexra maintenance platform in 2025 to carry out heavy servicing throughout the operational life of offshore installations.
The division primarily deploys jack-up vessels including Wind Zaratan, Wind Scylla, and Wind Keeper, while retaining access to the wider fleet operated by the parent company.
