Turkish oil and gas pipeline operator BOTAŞ has ordered the construction of a floating storage and regasification unit from Hyundai Heavy Industries.

The FSRU will have a 170,000-cubic-metre storage capacity and an LNG discharge capacity of 28 million cubic metres per day.

The vessel will be jetty moored off the coast of Turkey and operated by Mitsui OSK Lines.

ABS was selected to class the FSRU.
