MarEx has reported an oil rig that was under construction at the Korean shipbuilder Daewoo (DSME) has sunk.
The incident occurred at DSME's Geoje shipbuilding site. No injuries or fatalities were reported.
According to MarEx, at the time of the sinking, DSME's official statement was of a minor accident, with the rig developing a repairable tilt due to a drainpipe malfunction.
The platform was being constructed for Norwegian offshore energy firm Odfjell Drilling and was to be operated by BP. It is unclear how many personnel were on board.
