The Louis-Dreyfus family, shareholder of French marine services provider Louis Dreyfus Armateurs (LDA), and InfraVia, a Paris-based independent private equity company, have entered into exclusive negotiations for InfraVia to acquire a majority stake in LDA.

As part of the transaction, InfraVia (through its fund InfraVia European Fund VI) will acquire an 80 per cent stake in LDA to support the group’s development. The Louis-Dreyfus family will retain 20 per cent ownership in the group, and Edouard Louis-Dreyfus will remain President.

This transaction will allow LDA to invest €1 billion (US$1.05 billion) over the next few years, enabling the group to more than double the size of its fleet and accelerate its development in technological innovation, energy transition, and the design of future navigation modes and maritime services.

LDA said that, with extensive experience supporting companies across various infrastructure sectors, InfraVia has the necessary expertise to accelerate the group’s digitalisation and energy transition.
