BS Offshore's newest CSOV begins undergoing final outfitting

Published on:

Norwegian shipyard Ulstein Verft has commenced final outfitting on a new commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) ordered by German shipowner Bernhard Schulte Offshore (BS Offshore).

The CSOV's hull arrived at Ulstein Verft on Wednesday, December 18. The vessel is now positioned in the dock hall, where it will be secured and lighting will be installed.

It will then undergo comprehensive outfitting, including installation of the electrical and mechanical systems, piping, accommodation, and system integration.

The hull was constructed at Crist's facilities in Poland. Various Ulstein companies, including Ulstein Design and Solutions, Ulstein Poland, and Ulstein Verft, have carried out all the design and engineering.

The BS Offshore CSOV will be equipped with a 3D-compensated crane and a walk-to-work gangway, ensuring safe and efficient personnel and cargo transfer to offshore wind turbine facilities. The vessel will also feature a diesel-electric propulsion system with substantial battery energy storage.

The propulsion is also prepared to operate on methanol fuel.
