New contracts for six “Tiger Shark” OSVs

Harvey Gulf International Marine, New Orleans, USA, has awarded a contract to the Eastern Shipbuilding Group for the construction and delivery of six 89-metre OSVs.

The signing ceremony was held on January 4 at Harvey Gulf's new office in New Orleans.

These "Tiger Shark" series of vessels are approximately 5,650DWT and are well suited for world wide operations, meeting all of the latest Marpol and IMO regulations. The vessels will be classed by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).

Equipped with a Converteam diesel electric propulsion system with Schottel Z-drives rated for a total propulsion output of 5,000kW with overall power provided by four Cummins QSK60M diesel generators rated at 1,825kW each, these vessels have been engineered to provide Harvey Gulf with fully integrated, fully automated  offshore support vessels.

Delivery of the first vessel will be in 19 months with follow-on vessels to be delivered in five months increments thereafter.
