Inverlussa Marine Services, based at Loch Spelvie on the Island of Mull in Scotland, has ordered a 27.5-metre general purpose work boat to be designed by Macduff Ship Design.
Following delivery of a similar vessel in May 2012, the owners have been working with the design house to develop a modified version. The new iteration will feature more beam and extended accommodation facilities for added operational flexibility.
The hull is to be built to Class, and the vessel will be suited for operations such as coastal cargo transfer, civil engineering/renewable energy support, fish farm service work, and general towage duties.
The triple-screw shallow-draught vessel will be capable of carrying 120 tonnes of deck cargo and will feature a dry hold and facilities for cargo fuel and water transfer below deck.
Propulsion will be provided by three Caterpillar engines and the vessel will also feature a 146-tonne combined knuckle telescopic deck crane.
Design work is being advanced for an early start to construction following the plan approval process.
