
European marine services provider Vroon Offshore has announced the keel-laying of the forthcoming 'VOS Paradise', the second of six platform supply vessels currently under construction at COSCO's Guangdong Shipyard in China.
The 4,200DWT vessel will measure 83.4 metres in length overall, with a moulded breadth of 18 metres and a maximum draught of 6.7 metres.
A four-engine bank comprising two 1,630kW engines and two 990kW engines will power the vessel (via two azimuthing thrusters) to a maximum speed of 13.5 knots and a service speed of 10 knots.
Additionally, the vessel will be installed with DP-2 dynamic positioning.
The vessels will be delivered to Vroon in 2015 and 2016, and are intended for operation in European waters by Vroon's Den Helder branch in the Netherlands.
