Italian-based workboat designer, Agromare, has delivered three single-engine mooring boats to Salerno, Barletta and Manfredonia port operators. These units are considered the first of their kind in Italy to be built in marine aluminium alloy.

The last of the three vessels – 'Manfredi', 'Bat 1' and 'Ready' – was delivered in May this year. 'Bat 1' and 'Manfredi' are eight-metre long sister vessels, with beams reaching three metres, whereas 'Ready' is a slightly longer unit, at ten metres long and a beam of 3.7 metres.

Within their class, their beams were conceived so as to warrant a higher degree of stability, while manoeuvrability is enhanced by the design of the steering gear and a raised bulwark gives the crew a higher level of security.

The units are equipped with high quality 60 Roxtec certified watertight bulkheads, also utilised on a number of cruise ships and mega-yachts. In addition is a pair of steel bits for tugging purposes, as well as an electric windlass placed on deck. The electric bow-thruster, which is available on all three boats, can reach up to 8.6kW.
