Fresh from delivering its first 45-metre crew boat to the region, Incat Crowther has established an office in Brazil to meet growing demand for products and services in South America.
"The opening of the office puts Incat Crowther at the centre of the South American Offshore Oilfield industry," commented the naval architect.
"With the company experiencing significant international growth for diverse vessel designs and specialist consulting services, the office in Brazil is a reflection of this growth and will initially target specialised high-speed aluminium ships for the local offshore support market. These include fast supply vessels, high speed crew vessels, offshore support vessels, dive support vessels, oil recovery vessels and patrol vessels."
The Brazilian office will function as the key point of contact for Incat Crowther's South American clients and will also provide support during the development and construction stages of all vessel newbuildings.
Incat Crowther's steady growth saw a development of robust business systems that culminated in ISO-9001 certification in 2012. The Brazilian office will seek to organically capitalise on these added capabilities, utilising cloud-based computing systems and procedures to bring the company's culture and customer service focus to a new continent.
"Our presence in Brazil is crucial because we understand the increasing demands of targeted vessels in the region, as well as the short timeframes in which accurate engineering solutions need to be presented," said Incat Crowther Brazil's general manager Raoni França.
"The Brazilian office is already involved in several large projects. These include three 42.5-metre DSVs for Sistac Marine, twelve 48-metre UT4000 crew boats under construction at ETP Engenharia, and three classes of crew boat at Arpoador – with the first 45-metre P3 crew boat, 'BS Maresias', recently delivered."
The Brazilian branch is expected to make further announcements about new projects in South America in the near future.
