Greatship cancels OSV order

Published on

Greatship Global Offshore Services (GGOS)'s Indian subsidiary GIL has cancelled a shipbuilding contract for a multipurpose offshore support vessel (OSV).

The vessel was one of two newbuild multipurpose support vessels the company had ordered from Mazagon Dock Limited, Mumbai, in September 2007. GGOS had earlier cancelled the shipbuilding contract for one of these vessels. The company has now cancelled the shipbuilding contract for the second vessel.

With the cancellation, the order book of GIL and its subsidiaries stands at four vessels and one jack-up rig in Dubai. The four vessels comprise three remotely operated vehicle support vessels (ROVSVs) in Sri Lanka, and one anchor-handling/tug supply (AHTS) vessel in Singapore.
