Grandweld Shipyards has secured a repeat order worth US$5 million to build a 42-metre aluminium crew boat for Khalid Faraj Shipping.
The third order received by Grandweld from Khalid Faraj over the last five months, the contract signing took place at Middle East Workboats Conference and Exhibition held in Abu Dhabi on October 1, 2013.
The 42-metre fast aluminium boat is based on an existing Grandweld's design. Capable of reaching speeds upwards of 26 knots, the crewboat will feature luxury seating, VIP accomodation, larger deck space and enhanced crew comfort.
With seating for 83 passengers, the vessel has a 110-square-metre loading area for more than 90 tonnes of deck cargo. The vessel can also carry a sizeable amount of fuel and fresh water.
