Grandweld Shipyards has successfully delivered the fifth of six seismic support vessels for Bourbon Offshore, the 'Bourbon Cormorant'.
According to the shipbuilder, the 53.8-metre vessels utilise a flexible hybrid propulsion system, enabling the vessels to operate efficiently through variable propulsion modes, including diesel-mechanical, diesel-electric, and hybrid modes.
This ability to operate in a range of propulsion modes adapted for a range of operating conditions will result in significant fuel savings and emissions reductions, said Grandweld.
The 'Bourbon Cormorant' will assist in seismic operations such as towing, chasing, and transferring offshore supplies.
