Global Marine Design (GMD) has announced the launch of its new 12.5-metre catamaran offshore work vessel 'Marie Pierre'.

Modifed from GMD's Smidt Diving Jet Catamaran built in the UAE, the new vessel has been designed to encompass the latest in propulsion efficiency and space utilisation while enabling operational speeds of 30 knots at full load.

The boat has an overall length of 12.50 metres, a beam of 4.50 metres, a draught of 0.65 metres and a working displacement of 13.5 tonnes. A pair of Caterpillar C9 engines, each rated 422kW, deliver a sprint speed of 32 knots and a cruise speed of 24 knots. Equipped with Maxilift 200 aft deck crane, the vessel is suitable for applications such as environmental monitoring, hydrographic survey and crew transfer.
