Maritime survey provider Darkocean has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with Helms Geomarine, a Malaysian geotechnical services company.
The parties said the collaboration aims to strengthen geotechnical capabilities across Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and northern Europe, with a focus on localising offshore geotechnical services and reducing reliance on imported solutions.
"By combining traditional practices with modern technologies, this partnership will support regional development in critical sectors including offshore energy, port infrastructure, and renewable projects," said Darkocean.
"This partnership establishes Darkocean as the only offshore geotechnical company based in Qatar, significantly reducing the country’s dependence on imported capabilities for major projects," added Anupam Thakur, CEO of Darkocean.
"Unlike others, Darkocean will also offer advanced laboratory testing locally, eliminating the need to ship samples to Australia or abroad."
