Fred. Olsen Windcarrier renames jack-up vessel

Fred. Olsen Windcarrier officially changed the name of the jack-up vessel Seafox 5 (pictured) to Blue Tern on Monday, February 11.

Fred. Olsen Windcarrier had made an agreement with Seafox International Group for the acquisition of a 51 per cent ownership in the vessel. This includes that the vessel comes under the commercial, technical, and administrative management as a part of the Fred. Olsen Windcarrier fleet of jack-up vessels for offshore wind.

The 2012-built Blue Tern is a multi-purpose, four-legged, self-propelled DP2 jack-up construction vessel that has been used to serve the offshore wind and oil and gas decommissioning markets.

The vessel has an LOA of 151 metres, a width of 50 metres, a 1,200-tonne main crane, and accommodation for 150 personnel.
