L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore has secured an offshore contract from the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for development work off India’s west coast, parent company Larsen and Toubro announced on September 9.
Under L&T’s project classification, the order is valued between INR25 billion ($298 million) and INR50 billion for the additional development of Ratna-I and NLM-14 project.
The scope covers engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of three new well-head platforms, one riser platform, multiple sections of subsea pipelines and cables, as well as brownfield modifications to existing offshore installations.
The project is intended to support further development and production from offshore assets in the region.
“The ADR-I and NLM-14 developments are significant additions to India's offshore energy infrastructure and demonstrate the continued investment in enhancing production from established offshore assets,” said Parthasarathi Chatterjee, Senior Vice President & Head – L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore.
Chatterjee said combining new offshore facilities with modifications to existing installations in operating fields would require planning and coordination between engineering and construction activities.
