Arabian Drilling signs first international offshore contract
Saudi Arabia's Arabian Drilling has signed a contract with an unnamed company based in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, marking its first offshore operation outside of Saudi Arabia.
The company described the deal as a landmark geographical venture and a significant step in its long-term strategy to expand beyond its domestic market.
The contract is primarily for exploration drilling, with operations set to begin in the first quarter of 2026. The initial work will add SAR75 million ($19.9 million) to the company's backlog and is designated for the preliminary drilling of exploration wells over a period of five to seven months.
Arabian Drilling stated that any potential extension of the contract will be contingent upon the successful outcomes of these exploratory efforts.
The company noted that this expansion, along with the recent acquisition of a new service vessel, is designed to diversify its revenue sources and reduce reliance on its traditional markets.
