Indonesia: Drydocks World has announced the launch of a highly versatile, self-contained jack-up construction vessel, 'Nora', at its Graha shipyard in Indonesia.
The self-propelled vessel, 'Nora', was built for Master Marine of Norway
It was designed by Global Maritime, and classified by the American Bureau of Shipping. 'Nora' is 111.8 metres long and capable of carrying up to 260 people. The vessel's service jacks are self driven and equipped with DP2, two pedestal cranes each with 750-tonne capacity and a large open deck area of 2,500 square metres.
The vessel is fully self contained, able to install offshore structures weighing up to 7,200 tonnes, and can replace several service, crane and accommodation vessels normally used in offshore wind field development.
'Nora' will be used to install 88 wind turbines and two substation modules at the Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm in the United Kingdom for Scira Offshore Energy.
