Australia's Woodside Energy on Wednesday narrowed its annual production forecast and posted a 27 per cent rise in its third-quarter revenue on higher oil and gas prices.

The country's top independent oil and gas producer now expects annual production of 174 to 181 million barrels of oil equivalent (mmboe), down from its earlier forecast of 174-185 mmboe.

The company cited lower expected volumes from its Beaumont New Ammonia plant in Texas, a narrower window for first LNG from the Scarborough project and reduced production at the Okha floating production, storage and offloading vessel.

Woodside had lowered its expected Beaumont New Ammonia volumes after the facility was shut for about 30 days following a process safety event and due to feedstock constraints.

The country's top independent oil and gas producer reported revenue of $4.28 billion for the three months ended September 30, up from $3.36 billion reported a year ago.

That beat a Visible Alpha consensus of $4.11 billion.

Woodside's quarterly production volumes fell nine per cent from a year earlier to 46.2 mmboe, but rose 12 per cent from the previous quarter following higher production from Pluto LNG after maintenance activities were completed in the second quarter.
