COSCO (Nantong) Shipyard has delivered the newbuild ultra-deepwater cylindrical drilling rig 'Sevan Brasil' to Sevan Drilling this week.
'Sevan Brasil' measures 99 metres in length overall, 75 metres in breadth and 24.5 metres in depth. The rig is of the same design as 'Sevan Driller', which in June 2010, became the world's first cylindrical drilling rig to commence operation.
'Sevan Brasil' is contracted to Petrobras on a six-year contract for drilling operations offshore Brazil, with expected start-up in the second quarter of 2012.
