ALP Maritime Services has entered into a Memorandum of Agreement to purchase six long-distance anchor-handling/towing vessels, subject to a satisfactory inspection of the vessels.

All six vessels feature bollard pulls between 200-300 tonnes, adding a combined 1,450 tonnes to ALP's fleet.

The vessels to be acquired include the 306TBP 'AHT ORCUS', the 218TBP 'AHT URSUS', the 219TBP 'AHT JANUS', the 207TBP 'AHT TAURUS', and the 192TBP 'AHT MAGNUS'.

All of the vessels are rated to DP2 dynamic positioning and were constructed between 2006-2010.

ALP will take over the vessels between December 2014 and the end of March 2015 at the company's discretion.

The previous owners of the vessels were not disclosed.
