German LNG taps two Dutch firms for terminal jetty construction
German gas company German LNG has awarded Dutch firms Ballast Nedam Infra and Hakkers Waterbouw a contract for the construction of a new jetty at German LNG's new terminal in Brunsbüttel.
Construction of the sea jetty will start in the summer of 2025 and is expected to be completed in early 2027.
The new jetty will be equipped to accommodate ships up to 267,000 cubic metres capacity. In addition to the main berth, a smaller berth will also be built for LNG bunkering vessels and barges.
The jetty will boast an unloading capacity of 14,000 cubic metres per hour and a loading capacity of 3,000 cubic metres per hour. Hakkers said various crane vessels, floating sheerlegs, and pontoons will be used during construction along with the latest technologies to ensure efficiency and sustainability.
The jetty construction will be carried out as a subcontract under main contractor CS Gas North, a joint venture formed by Spanish companies Cobra and Sener.
