US dredging contractor Great Lakes Dredge and Dock (GLDD) has received four new work awards for capital and maintenance dredging projects in Louisiana, Texas, and South Carolina.

The first award is for capital dredging on the Woodside Louisiana LNG project near Lake Charles, Louisiana. The work, awarded by Bechtel Energy, includes the construction of a ship berthing basin, with dredging expected to commence in early 2026.

The other three awards are from the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). They include a $36.2 million maintenance dredging project for the Galveston and Houston Ship Channels in Texas, and a $17.6 million hopper dredge rental contract for work on the Mississippi River.

The fourth award was a $10.8 million maintenance project for the Charleston Entrance Channel, which was completed in the second quarter of 2025.

Lasse Petterson, President and CEO of GLDD, stated that the four awards contribute to the company's 2025 dredging backlog and provide revenue visibility for the remainder of the year into 2026.
