DEME starts maintenance dredging of Scheldt

DEME Group has begun conducting maintenance dredging of the Scheldt River in western Belgium.

The company is using the aptly named Scheldt River, an LNG dual-fuel trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD), for the project.

The dredging work is being carried out on behalf of the Flemish government's Department of Mobility and Public Works and is necessary to ensure the port's maritime accessibility.
