Boskalis conducting maintenance dredging at Mexico port

Published on:

Dutch marine services company Boskalis has announced that its trailing suction hopper dredger, Crestway, is currently conducting maintenance dredging in the port of Tuxpan, located on the Atlantic coast of Mexico. The said dredging project is scheduled to take place over the next few weeks.

The scope of the work involves the Crestway dredging a significant volume of sand and silt from the port's access channel. The stated goal of the maintenance dredging is to ensure the port remains accessible for large container vessels, supporting the continued flow of maritime trade through the facility.

This is the latest in a series of projects for the trailing suction hopper dredger in Mexico.

In recent months, the Crestway and its crew have also performed similar maintenance dredging works at the ports of Tampico and Chiapas. These operations were also carried out to ensure that both ports could maintain their operational capacity for shipping traffic, Boskalis said.
