Acta orders construction support vessel

Netherlands-based Acta Marine has signed a contract for the building of a DP2 construction support vessel (CSV).

The vessel is primarily aimed at the offshore wind market, measures 93.4 metres by 18 metres, and can accommodate up to 120 people in 80 cabins. It will be equipped with a dynamic motion compensated gangway system, mounted on an integrated tower with height adjustment and a personnel/cargo lift.

‘Ocean Vantage’ takes to the waves

Gardline has commissioned a new DP2 geotechnical drill vessel. The vessel, named ‘Ocean Vantage’ has already successfully completed a number of projects. The ‘Ocean Vantage’ has a proven 65-tonne capacity GL100 twin tower drill system.
 
The ‘Ocean Vantage’ has completed work in the North Sea adjacent to an offshore gas installation and is planned to complete several other surveys in the European/Atlantic region before the end of this year. “This investment highlights Gardline’s long term commitment to serving the offshore hydrocarbon, renewables and civil engineering sectors with continued high quality geotechnical services in the coming years,” said Managing Director Mervyn Wooltorton.

Unexploded ordnance project completed at German offshore wind farm

James Fisher Subsea has completed a project to locate and dispose of unexploded ordnance (UXO) found in the Nordergründe offshore wind farm located eight nautical miles off the North Sea coast of Germany.

Bespoke UXO support vessels, ROVs, detonation specialists and target location were all used during the project.

Sovcomflot expands participation in the Sakhalin-2 project

Sovcomflot Group (SCF Group) has increased its fleet as it expands its involvement in Sakhalin Energy’s Sakhalin-2 offshore project.

SCF Group purchased two platform supply vessels from Swire Pacific Offshore. This means all three platform supply vessels used in the Sakhalin-2 project will now be operated by SCF Group under long-term time charter contracts with Sakhalin Energy.
