BP has awarded Technip two significant contracts, with a combined total value in the region of GBP100 million (US$151.7 millions).
The first award, a three year diving repair and maintenance (R&M) frame agreement contract with two further one year options, covers all diving and R&M activities for BP's platforms and subsea fields and represents the retention of a contract that Technip has held for the last five years. Technip's operating center in Aberdeen, Scotland will execute the contract, using diving support vessels from the company's suite of marine assets, including 'Alliance', 'Wellservicer', 'Orelia', 'Skandi Achiever' and 'Skandi Arctic'.
The second award is a major engineering and installation contract for the development of the Devenick field, located 234 kilometres north east of Aberdeen. It covers project management, engineering, fabrication, installation and commissioning of the 33.5-kilometre pipe-in-pipe production pipeline.
Technip's Aberdeen operating center will also execute this contract, which is scheduled to be completed in 2011. Vessels form the Technip fleet will be used for the offshore installation campaign, including the new pipelay vessels, 'Apche II', 'Orelia', 'Skandi Arctic' and anchor handling tug supply vessel, 'Normand Mariner'.
