GEAR | Dutch design firm’s UK office to come under new ownership

UK naval architects the AqualisBraemar LOC Group (ABL Group) has entered into an agreement to acquire the UK operations of ship design and marine consultancy company OSD-IMT from the Damen Shipyards Group of the Netherlands.

The acquisition covers OSD-IMT’s offices in Bideford, North Devon, and Dundee, Scotland. Details of the value of the transaction have not been disclosed by the parties.

OSD-IMT will work closely with ABL company Longitude Engineering, which specialises in marine operations engineering and marine design, conversion, and upgrade of specific vessel types that complement OSD-IMT’s portfolio.

The parties expect the acquisition be completed by the end of November 2021.
