WMTC launches new website

The Whitsunday Maritime Training Centre (WMTC) in Queensland, Australia, has launched a new website with information regarding the centre and the maritime training courses on offer.

Based at the Whitsunday Sailing Club in Airlie Beach, the WMTC offers training courses from recreational boat licences right through to Med 2, Med 3 and Master 5 commercial qualifications. The WMTC was established in 1994 and has grown from offering dinghy training and sailing classes to a full-time educational facility with qualified trainers, three training areas, a range of equipment and a simulator.

"There are over fifteen courses available for the general public, recreational sailing or students interested in improving their maritime career opportunities," training co-ordinator Kaye Williams says. "The Certificate of Sea Safety is especially popular as it is an essential requirement for anyone working in commercial shipping – whether you are a chef, engineer or coxswain."
