Lloyd's Register has launched a new scheme aimed at helping training providers deliver courses to recognised standards.

The new Lloyd's Register's Approved Training Provider Scheme is designed to approve both training management systems and specific courses, whether an independent college or academy, or the training department of a shipping company or manning agency provides these.

It will provide independent assessment and certification of the provider's ability and can act as a benchmark for the marine industry in its selection of courses for staff development and training.
