GEAR | Nautical Institute Singapore Conference 2025 to focus on digitalisation, seafarers' wellbeing

The Nautical Institute Singapore Conference 2025 will be launched this July 17 at Furama City Centre in Singapore.

The conference will be held under the theme “Maritime 4.0 – Embracing Digitalisation, Sustainability and Wellbeing.” It will offer a platform for maritime professionals, regulators, and technology leaders to connect and collaborate.

The event will feature Ang Wee Keong, Chief Executive of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, as the guest of honour, while keynote addresses will be delivered by John Martin, CEO of Gard Singapore, and Mark Cameron, Managing Director (Asia) and COO of Ardmore Shipping.

Conference themes

This year’s programme is structured around three key themes:

  1. Digitalisation – Innovations in navigation systems, pilotage, and automation — including AI in bridge operations and digital pilotage — will be explored.

  2. Sustainability – The session will cover the future of alternative fuels such as ammonia, hydrogen, and nuclear power, with a focus on crew readiness and operational safety.

  3. Seafarer wellbeing – Speakers will address critical issues surrounding mental health, , mentorship, and maritime career development.

Attendees can look forward to: a full-day conference featuring over 20 expert speakers; panel discussions and expert-led keynotes; ample networking opportunities; and on-site media access for interviews and press coverage.
