Modern technology for container stuffing

Modern technology for container stuffing
Published on

Poland's DCT Gdansk container terminal has purchased a modern ACTIW LoadPlate unit, used for cargo stuffing into standard containers. It ensures the efficient loading of a wide assortment of cargoes.

Innovative technology of the ACTIW LoadPlate system eliminates the restrictions of loading cargoes considered to be difficult for containerisation, or susceptible to damage while using conventional load methods.

It concerns such cargoes as: steel construction, machinery, steel pipes, steel sheets, bars, steel profiles, structural sections, as well as many others. This device is also ideal for loading unitised cargoes, such as pallets, big bags, etc, so that the maximum utilisation of cargo space in the container can be achieved.

The usage of the ACTIW LoadPlate platform significantly improves the efficiency of general cargo handling operations, accelerates the container's cargo stuffing and supports to road transport in direct trans-shipments. It also increases the security of cargo handling operations.

DCT Gdansk is the first container terminal in the southern part of the Baltic Sea equipped with this ACTIW LoadPlate technology.

ACTIW LoadPlate was produced by the Finnish company Actiw and delivered to DCT Gdansk terminal in the beginning of March. It is now ready for use.
