GEAR | Canadian Coast Guard completes acquisition of oil spill cleanup tanks

POLLUTION CONTROL WEEK

The Canadian Coast Guard has received its final delivery of 220 floating oil storage tanks developed by Lamor.

The acquisition of the storage tanks is part of the Canadian government’s Oceans Protection Plan, which among other things seeks to enhance the coast guard’s ability to respond to oil spill incidents in the country’s waters.

The tanks come in five-cubic-metre and 10-cubic-metre variants. These have been distributed to ten strategic locations across Canada.
