LM Wind Power has partnered with classification society BV in the certification of wind turbine blades, such as those used in offshore installations.
A framework agreement between LM and BV was recently signed, which covers the certification of wind turbine blades to international standards.
The contract follows a collaboration between both companies involving knowledge transfer and research into the certification's full raft of requirements and specifications.
BV commented that with the framework agreement now in place, the first certification assignments are now underway.
