European technical services provider Imtech has been awarded the contract to develop high-tech and energy-saving climate technology on board four new F125 frigates to be built for the German Navy. The contract is worth a total of over US$38.2 million.
Imtech will supply the four F125 frigates with high-tech and energy-saving heating, ventilation & air conditioning (HVAC) that can be adjusted in each individual space. Imtech is responsible for the engineering, implementation and commissioning of the systems. The contract originated from the Arge F125, which consists of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems and the Lürssen Werft.
The four frigates will be operational by 2017.
The technology that Imtech will supply on the frigates has been specially designed with a view to long-term and intensive use. It also meets the highest requirements and can be deployed under the most extreme climatic conditions.
