Humphree, a Sweden-based manufacturer of interceptors, has released a completely new control system for the full range of Humphree interceptor trim systems.
The new automatic trim optimisation system (ATOS) features great improvement to the fuel consumption of up to 15 percent, or any planing or semi planing hull from 13.7 metres to 91.4 metres and beyond. With the new ATOS, the vessel can run at optimal running trim at all speeds.
With the new active ride control system the yachts, pilot boats or fast ferries do not need to fit fin stabilisers with excessive drag for stabilisation. The Humphree active ride control system not only stabilises the vessel, it automatically trims it to optimum performance and minimum fuel consumption while increasing speed at the same time.
Humphree's interceptors replace traditional trim tabs and provide improved fuel consumption. They cut carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions, increase speed and improve acceleration as well as onboard comfort.
The Humphree interceptors can easily be adopted to fit any shape, even hulls with propeller tunnels. The systems are also used to reduce wave making and wash for vessels operating in sensitive areas. The wake or wave height is proven to be reduced with up to 20 percent or more.
