GEAR | Norway’s Alfa Laval acquires local supplier of cage cleaning systems

Norwegian aquaculture equipment manufacturer Alfa Laval has completed its acquisition of local company LiftUp, which specialises in cage cleaning systems such as sludge collectors and pumps for removing dead fish.

Under the terms of the acquisition, LiftUp will operate as a brand under pump supplier Framo, which itself became part of the Alfa Laval Group in 2014.

Framo Innovation director Oddbjørn Jacobsen said the acquisition give Alfa Laval access to technology that will strengthen the company’s focus on sustainable aquaculture products and services.
