Solar Solve Marine, UK, recently provided Dutch company Temaro with 39 Solasafe sunscreens for installation on-board the multi-purpose offshore construction vessel 'OSA Goliath'.
Built at Drydocks World, Dubai, for Singapore-based Coastline Maritime, the diesel-electric powered vessel was delivered on April 24 this year.
Scheduled for working in the Gulf of Mexico over the next few years, the need for solar heat and glare protection will be paramount and consequently the 39 Solasafe sunscreens were installed by at the windows in the wheelhouse and crane whilst 'OSA Goliath' was berthed in the Port of Rotterdam.
The vessel is one of the largest heavy load vessels worldwide and is being used for platform reconditioning, pipe-laying and to set up offshore wind power plants.
At 180 metres long, the 22,000DWT vessel is equipped with a 2,000-tonne crane. With the emerging need for offshore wind farms, the vessel is well positioned to support wind turbine installations and subsea construction support.
