GEAR | Singapore crewboat builder orders 50 Caterpillar IMO Tier III engines

Singapore-based crewboat builder Strategic Marine has entered into an agreement with Trakindo Utama Singapore Branch, an authorised Caterpillar dealer, for 50 of its C32 ACERT IMO Tier III-compliant engines.
The deal will allow Strategic Marine to significantly shorten its production timeline for new vessels amid severe supply chain disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 50 Caterpillar engines, which will be IMO Tier III-compliant if a selective catalytic reduction system is added, will be installed in vessels at Strategic Marine’s new Singapore shipyard at 5 Benoi Road.
