Caudwell Marine has confirmed that its new 300hp (223kW) diesel-powered outboard will be delivered in early 2024.

Caudwell Marine said the outboard is primarily aimed at the commercial and military markets, which require high performance outboards to work day-in and day-out in all conditions.

The outboard will feature a V6 turbocharged, high-performance diesel engine. The full diesel outboard product is receiving its final validation and durability testing on boats in Lowestoft, UK, while a location in Dubai will be dedicated to hot environment testing.

The outboard will feature a patented integrated steering system, which articulates steering from the lower unit only, with the powerhead and upper leg section remaining stationary in the turn. This arrangement ensures the propellers are always effectively deployed to deliver full power throughout the turn.
