GEAR | MAN introduces marine hybrid system

MEPS WEEK

MAN has introduced a new marine hybrid system optimised for workboats.

The system possesses the features of a conventional drive system coupled with features of electric motors and batteries to enable a range of operating modes including battery-electric mode, diesel-electric mode, cross-over mode, and hotel mode to boost mode. Based on the desired operating modes, the hybrid system can focus the driving profiles on performance, comfort, or fuel efficiency depending on customer preference.

MAN added that the system can be configured so that emissions including noise can be reduced significantly. Zero-emission power may also be supplied while a boat is anchored.
