Anglo Belgian Corporation (ABC) has been awarded a contract by Egypt’s South Red Sea Shipyard (SRSS) to supply the power systems for ten new tugs slated for the Suez Canal Authority (SCA).

The tugs will each be equipped with two ABC 12DZC medium-speed engines, which will help them ensure the smooth passage of ships through the Suez Canal.

SRSS will build the tugs to a design by Canadian naval architecture firm Robert Allan Ltd. Each will have a length of 32 metres and two firefighting monitors.
