GEAR | Caterpillar, Svitzer ink global services agreement

Caterpillar and multinational towage company Svitzer have entered into a lifecycle agreement wherein Caterpillar will help maintain the engines that power the more than 100 tugs in the Svitzer fleet.

Assistance to be provided by Caterpillar will be aimed towards optimising the engines’ fuel consumption, predicting service events, and improving overall vessel uptime.

Caterpillar will utilise its global dealer network to support Svitzer’s towage operations in over 30 countries across four regions.
